Why don’t we give credit where credit is due?

Why do we (generally Arabs, mainly Saudis) always go out of our way to not give credit? Look at this funny cartoon:

As you can see between the two cars, this image is made and copyrighted by “Daniel Bozet”.

However in this example the author took the time to crop out the credits from the image. Notice the crop lines between the cars:

This image was used on SaudiMac by Yara and she did not remove the credit. Riyan-C uploaded the image on flickr and he credited it as well.

This is a serious issue in our Arab community and we need to understand the basics of intellectual property.

Update: The link was removed by the request of the author of that post, he commented that he found the image like that.

    I agree that we should not removed those marks. And We should give proper credit to the owner

    Yes!! We have this problem!! In the civilized part of the world it is a big issue and is never taken lightly…they use the legal term Infringement. However, it does go hand in hand with our other problem which is plagiarism.

    Hi my friend ,

    first of all , I’m the writer who wrote that post . And believe me , I didn’t take any time to crop the credits . The picture haven’t any credits when I sow it . Some one alse did .

    look at this [ http://www.kh-b.com/archives/112 ] this is one of the posts in my own blog . And you can see that I didn’t take [ the time to crop out the credits from the image ] .

    So please , be sure before talking about anyone again !

    more than that , why did I leave the other sign ( under the white car ) if I want to steel the credits ?

    Finally , Why I wont to steel a famous image like this ?
