Sony recalls 440,000 Vaio notebooks worldwide due to overheating risk

Some sony laptops sold between May 2007 and July 2008 could over heat (issues unrelated to the batteries) and need to be repaired by Sony (which is free). More than 200 notebooks reported with overheating issues already. This might effect some of the Sony Vaio notebooks sold in Saudi Arabia ( or even imported from the US for example). If your Sony Vaio notebook is included in this recall then immediately contact the Sony distributor in Saudi Arabia Modern Electronics Company.

Description: The recalled notebook computer models are the VAIO VGN-TZ100 series, VGN-TZ200 series, VGN-TZ300 series and VGN-TZ2000 series. The computers’ screen size is about 11.1″ measured diagonally. Not all units are affected; consumers should contact Sony to determine if their unit is included in the recall.
